It's realistic that the Pirates could go out & spend $20M on FA's this year {They won't do it} but, It could get 3 top line players. Let's have a vote what 3 legit FA's would you want to see signed & for how much each? Remember $20M.

"Speak better English that you?" Hmm, Leeds you almost made ur point. As far as the 3 guys mentioned, I could care less if they can speak English, Russian, or Arabic. I also don't care if they're white, black, or green. The point made was Donnelly was a leader. How these other 3 are even being mentioned is beyond me. Try taking ur anger out on Neal Huntington who could of had Adam Dunn last year or Hunter Pence and Dan Uggla this year. But he did get Dana Eveland and Aki!

Rosario- an all-star LEFTY and the Pirates top pitching prospect is actually overpaying for a scrappy right fielder, the least valued position in the field. They're not trading for Willie Mays!

Why would the Astros trade an All-star right fielder for an underachiveing starter fresh off the DL and a starter who has yet to have any sucess in the majors? Save that trade purposal for MLB THE SHOW 2010.

Dotel, Lopez and Carrasco speak perfect english Serg/Polatta. If you were in the know you would have heard their interviews and heard the speak better Enlish that you!

So it looks like the plan is coming together. Oswalt looks like he'll be dealt by lunchtime. Sure, they'll get JA Happ but offer them Duke and Lincoln for that right fielder. Pull the trigger Neal!

Ok Polatta that is really racist about the color white comment. I'm white and find that offensive and the players you want the PIRATES WONT GET. It just wont happen get over it.

Lot of chatter out their on moving Zach Duke and Paul Maholm. No chance to get Uggla now Neal, guy is tearing the cover off the ball. Hunter Pence could still be had! BTW BUDDY- all guys mentioned here are white!

Buddy- be offended all u want. The word color is nowhere in my post bro. They are from a foreign country like Evgeni Malkin, and he isn't a leaer in the clubhouse for the same reason. Nice to see the Steelers announce signings to the paying public. BTW silly and immature isn't namecalling and bro is short for brother, comrad. A term of endearment. Sis is calling someone a girl. There's a difference bro's

Good news -- CT scan was negative. That's two this season. Amzazed that there aren't more serious injuries.

Hope Ross is ok, he stayed up and was caught laughing about it so thats deffinately a good sign. Couldnt ask for a better job from Gallagher on such short notice, kept us in the game for a good couple of innings anyway but its not over yet. Ledezma looks good also against the 1 batter he faced haha

Really? So now I know who you are completely. A narrow minded racist. The only reason Donnelly was the leader and Dotel, Carrasco and Lopez can't is because they are of color? You just proved who you are. That post is offensive and needs removal immediately! Real classy comment sis.

honestly pollata you have done nothing but name calling by calling us silly, immature, and bro among many other things on your high pulpit. You have contributed absolutely nothing with your absolute dearth of information and illogical thought processes. Please come back when you can present and intellectual argument. I understand he has been a mentor but at some point these guys have to say I'm in my mid to late 20's its time to grow up and be a leader.

Polatta:

Donnelly served his purpose here. He was a good sign. But performance has to trump leadership eventually. At 39, he doesn't fit the future here. Maybe a contender will pick him up for the stretch drive.

PR, name calling since we disagree? Whatever! As for Faytes, Meek and Hanrahan have come out and said Donnelly was a leader and a mentor. The 3 guys u mentioned, I'm not sure they even speak English. Real classy way to run the website Paul!

Yea Donnelly needed to stay 25bb and 26k's in 30 innings. so almost every inning he walked a guy and almost every inning he struckout a guy. I know in Pollatas world thats great but guy gave up most home runs out of the pen. O and by the way is it also abuse how Carrasco has been pitched? DJ does nothing but compete and pitches consistently. He is valuable the way hes pitched this season. And you're telling me Donnelly is the only leader in the clubhouse? What about guys like dotel Carrasco and lopez. It seems like in your world if youre a vet youre automatically a leader that cant be replaced. But just remember if we flash back 2 years we have a world series contender according to Polata. And were the silly ones BROTHERS. Lol

Polatta

PR, so Donnelly (3-1) (world series ring) (leader in the clubhouse) (mentor to your 2 best young relievers) (signed contract with escalator clauses which he was hitting)(and way less than 5.58 ERA before he was being abused by management with 6 appearances in 7 days) should have stayed all season? EXACTLY WHAT I'M SAYING. And Morton (1-9) (worst record in baseball) (highest ERA among ALL starters in baseball) (crippled the bullpen each time he pitched) (and the team had a WINNING record in games Morton DIDN'T pitch) shouldn't have made 10 starts? EXACTLY what I'm saying! With those FACTS, looks like your the one that looks silly bro!

Polatta:

So Donnelly (5.58 ERA) should have stayed the season and Morton shouldn't have made 10 starts? Are you OK, bro? We're worried about you.

Lancem, its almost as if these people forget anything that happened even yesterday. As for Morton PR, anybody left in the rotation when they are 1-9 is in their to attempt to justify their trade. I'm not talking about spring training. As for Donnelly, is was all about money. Why else is Sean Gallagher still here. Come on PR, you're better than that. You act like everything Huntington touches turns to gold. Go check out the article showing 19 waiver wire pick-ups by Neal Huntington and tel me after reading it that this guy knows how to evaluate players.
