It's realistic that the Pirates could go out & spend $20M on FA's this year {They won't do it} but, It could get 3 top line players. Let's have a vote what 3 legit FA's would you want to see signed & for how much each? Remember $20M.

Kudos to the Bucs for signing 2 top level arms. Now continue the process and trade both Duke and Maholm in the off season and build a staff of hard throwers. This is the approach both San Diego and Cincinnati used to drastically improve their team. McDonald and Ohlendorf should be the only holdovers from this year's starting staff. And despite Charlie Morton's early season struggles, it would be beneficial to give him a few starts the balance of the season.

Beat the deadline but didn't get Strasburg money.

PR seems like a moot point. Hearing Harper signed for $6.5M.

A lot can happen in a year, but based solely on talent and position (and not the Boras factor), my guess is that Harper would be the pick right now. Rendon fractured his ankle and had surgery recently. Undersized third baseman.

What if Harper doesn't sign? Would the Pirates draft him or Rendon?

Polatta said: - "Arizonabruce, if u think they are signing both of these guys you're nuts bro!" - "They keep saying they spend more money on the draft and in the Dominican yet they dont sign the Sano's of the world and they WONT sign both of these draft picks." - "Like I said, NO WAY they sign both."

Reported on mlbtraderumors that allie has signed with the pirates. Uhoh could Polatta be wrong with his quote of no way will the pirates sign both. Maybe he should get those shorts ready with some sauce.

They got Happ by trading a NO. 1 Starter. We haven't had anyone coming close to Oswalt's stature since MAYBE Drabek. Once again you look stupid.

it only took 8 years for his 1st win. well worth the 1st pick overall in the draft.

I can't believe Bullington just shut out the Yankees.

J.A Happ was hardly a salary dump acquisition. Maybe if the Pirates learned from the Astros on how to get major league talent back in trades, they wouldn't be on pace to lose 110 games and again finish with the worst record in all of baseball. Not to mention look like they've thrown in the towel every game. Unwatchable!

PR that doesn't make any difference to polatta. He's in his own little, little world.

Polatta:

Pence won't be a free agent until 2014. Now that the Astros want to dump payroll, he fits their game plan.

If its D'Arnaud PR I'll eat my shorts. Guy isn't close to getting here. The right handed outfielder with power looked great again tonight. Too bad he plays for Houston. Pence and Milledge are worlds apart. Even Arizonabruce, the leader of the Milledge fan club, has to admit the difference!
